Foundation courses 2011
 Student at work

As an inclusive college St. John Rigby offers courses for all students.

At Entry Level the College offers two separate qualifications: Skills for Working Life and Life Skills. These allow learners the opportunity to develop a knowledge and understanding of a wide range of life and work related skills. Success on the Entry Level course can lead to progression to Level 1.

At Level 1, the Vocational Studies Course provides learners with an opportunity to develop a knowledge and understanding of various occupational areas such as Sport, Business Studies, IT, Health and Social Care and Art. This course provides a route to higher levels of study within the College.

In addition, all students taking the above courses will be encouraged to develop their literacy and numeracy skills. Students will work towards a Certificate in Adult Literacy and a Certificate in Adult Numeracy. These certificates can be studied at the appropriate level for each student.

These courses are taught in small classes with in-class support from Learning Mentors.
