Healthcare & Early Years

Students studying Health, Care and Early Years at St John Rigby College gain a broad knowledge and understanding of the Health, Social Care and Early Years sectors. Students gain valuable work experience within Health, Care and Early Years settings which enables them to identify clear links between the theoretical component of their studies and the practical context, thereby enabling them to apply their developing knowledge effectively within their assessed written work.

Students study within a supportive environment, which meets the diverse needs of all learners, and are taught by staff who are experienced professionals within the field of Health, Care and Early Years.

Many students who study in the Department progress on to Higher Education to study courses within the field of Health, Care and Early Years including Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work, and Teaching.

Students completing the Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education are qualified to work within an Early Years setting and therefore leave St John Rigby with a professional vocational qualification, which enables them to enter immediate employment working with children.
