Picture Your Success
How To Apply

As a Year 11 student you face some important choices: will you continue your education at college and if so, what will you study and where will you go?

At St John Rigby we aim to provide you with as clear a picture as possible of the College and our courses in order that you can make an informed decision based on comprehensive information and impartial guidance.

This prospectus is an important source of information for you, but how can you find out more?

We give talks in our major feeder high schools to Year 11 students about the college and our courses, but do not worry if you have not seen one of these.  You will be invited to attend one of our Open/Taster Events in the autumn term.  We will send details to all local high schools as well as publish the dates in the local press and on our web site. These Events are very important for you and your parents to meet us, to ask questions and to see where you may be studying.

You will need to complete and return an application form which we will send to local schools, or you can obtain one by clicking here, at an Open Event or from the Connexions Service.

You must return your application to College by Friday 29th January 2010. Forms received after this date will be placed on a strict waiting list.

Course discussions are held in the Spring Term, at this discussion we will agree a provisional course with you based on your interests, career aspirations and likely GCSE results.

After all the course discussions have been held we will send offer letters. An offer will be conditional on your meeting the College and subject entry criteria.

After your GCSE exams have finished we hold a New Students’ Day. You will spend a full day at college where you can find out more information about the subjects you have chosen.

Your final enrolment will be held in College in the days following publication of GCSE results. This is when your actual course is negotiated and confirmed.
