Eighty Up Holland High School Year 7 pupils were invited into college this month, to compete in a Rounders or a Football tournament hosted by the BTEC Sport Diploma students. The Up Holland pupils all thoroughly enjoyed the day, despite the very wet conditions.
The Sport Diploma students spent a significant amount of time preparing each event, which led to both tournaments being very effective. The football tournament was eventually won by Form D, with former pupil Jason Knowles presenting the trophy. He said, “I’ve learned a lot about organising events. It made me very proud to put this on for my old school and for it to go as well as it did!” Due to the adverse weather the Rounders tournament had to be cut short, with the seamless implementation of the wet-weather indoor plan.
Congratulations to both BTEC Sport Diploma classes for the very successful tournaments; they should be proud of their individual contributions to the overall success of the events.
