New 16-19 Bursary Fund for Lower Sixth (Year 12) Students
The Government has announced the introduction of a new 16-19 Bursary Fund to support the most vulnerable young people to participate in, and benefit from, post 16 Education.
To enable us to facilitate this fund if you fall into any of the three categories listed below, then you can apply for the Bursary Fund.
The three categories are:
Category A - If you are a student in care, a care leaver, in receipt of Income Support, Disability Living Allowance and Employment Support Allowance, or if you are a student living alone, you are entitled to a payment plus books and equipment needed for your course.
Category B - If the annual household income is £16,035 gross per annum or less you will be entitled to payments from the fund.
Category C - If the annual household income is between £16,035 and £20,817 gross, you can apply for support with essential books and equipment needed for your course. However, this is not guaranteed as it is subject to the numbers of applications received and the funds available.
Please note that the amount of the payments is entirely dependent upon the number of applications received and the funds available.
The applications for this year have been processed, but if your circumstances have changed, please complete the 16-19 Bursary Application Form (which can be found on the web site) and return it to the Finance Office as soon as possible.
