Welcome to the Study Support Department, a specialist department within the college which aims to support you and help give you the best opportunity of achieving your learning goals.

All students’ literacy and numeracy skills are assessed during induction and support will be offered to any student whom we feel would benefit from it. We can also carry out further diagnostic assessments where appropriate.

Study support may consist of:

• 1:1 tutorials
• In-class support
• Occasional drop-in sessions
• The loan of specialist assistive technology e.g. laptop computers, voice recognition software, or other appropriate equipment that would benefit your learning.

You may request study support at any stage of your studies. There can be many reasons why students feel that they may need additional support. Some students experience occasional difficulties coping with their studies; some have health problems, or may have suffered a temporary injury; others may feel that they need help acquiring better study or revision techniques.

Whatever the problem, the Study Support the team is here to help, whether that is helping you to develop your self-confidence, helping you to manage your studies and improve your organisation or helping to improve your motivation and your study skills.
